We’re happy to answer any questions you might have, with no commitment to proceed with treatment.
Treatment for pars fracture (spondylolysis) usually involves rest and bracing to stabilise the spine. Though in more severe cases, surgery may be needed.
If a pars fracture is not properly diagnosed and treated, it can get worse and lead to more serious conditions like spondylolisthesis, where a vertebra slips out of place.
Bracing treatment for pars fracture
The aim of a bespoke spinal brace, like the LOC Pars Fracture Brace, is to:
- stabilise the spine
- promote healing
- help with pain management
Early diagnosis and prompt bracing can significantly shorten recovery time from the normal six months to as little as three months.
Bracing treatment schedule
After the initial appointment, one of our specialist clinicians will take the necessary 3D scans and measurements of your lower back. We will then design, model and manufacture your bespoke brace in-house.
One of our specialist clinicians will then fit the brace and check if any adjustments are needed. Typically, these braces are used alongside rest for three or six months (your consultant will direct the time scales).
Same-day brace fitting service
We offer a same-day brace fitting service for patients who need a brace fitted quickly. Same-day patients are assessed in the morning and will have a bespoke brace fitted in the afternoon.
This same-day service is only available at our Kingston clinic.
