We’re happy to answer any questions you might have, with no commitment to proceed with treatment.
At the London Orthotic Consultancy (LOC), we’re excited to be leading the way in clinical orthotic research for scoliosis brace design. Since we started our scoliosis treatment programme, our LOC Scoliosis Brace has been recognised around the world for its innovative design, ongoing improvements, and the life-changing results it delivers.
When we launched the LOC Scoliosis Brace in 2022, we began collecting data from patients who chose to take part in our research. This helps us continuously refine our approach, and we’re proud to work on this in partnership with St George’s University Hospital London.
Our findings have been shared at some of the world’s most prestigious conferences on scoliosis treatments, including the Scoliosis Research Society, the leading global organisation dedicated to scoliosis research.
You can see a full list of the conferences where we’ve shared our work below.
Participation in the NHS BASIS study
In 2023, we were honoured to be invited to join the NHS BASIS study (Bracing Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis Study).
This important, long-term study is running until 2031 and brings together surgeons, researchers, and scoliosis patient representatives. Together, they’re working to improve the evidence base around scoliosis bracing.
Over 20 hospitals across the UK are taking part, and the study is inviting young people aged 10–15 with a scoliosis diagnosis to participate in this randomised controlled trial.
The study is comparing two types of back braces: one worn most of the day, and another designed for night-time use only. A customised version of the LOC Scoliosis Brace has been chosen for the night-time group.
